- Stop the music! Newly clean and sober, Ringo Starr went to
- court last week to block the release of recordings he made last
- year while under the influence of booze. The former Beatle, who
- recently underwent rehabilitation for alcohol abuse and is now
- on a 30-city tour, calls the tapes embarrassing "second-rate"
- stuff, not up to his standards. The producer of the disputed
- cuts, says Ringo, passed out tequila during the session,
- creating a "degenerative atmosphere" where too much time was
- spent "in activities other than recording."
